This article shows step-by-step how to install IBM® Content Manager CommonStore for Exchange Server® 8.1 (CSX) components on a Windows® system. The instructions are presented as clearly and simply as possible, with all of the necessary steps included.

This article contains three chapters, showing you how to set up CSX in typical 3-tier architecture. We used CSX with IBM Content Manager V8.1 (CM); however, instructions should be easily modifiable to work with other repositories.

Highlights include:

  • Exchange Server --
Short instructions on how to set up your Exchange Server, including Active Directory and CSX components required on the Exchange server box.
  • CSX Server --
How to install and configure the CommonStore server and tasks.
  • Outlook Client --
Here you can learn how to customize the Outlook client application to be used with CSX.
